In Wallace D Wattles book "The Science of Getting Rich"; he gives instructions on how to manifest intentions. Meaning, he explains how to get that which you desire. In many of Esther and Jerry Hicks' books and tapes, they reiterate much of the same information.
The point of instruction is to ask the Universe (God, higher source, source energy, higher self, higher power etc....) daily. Wattles suggests affirmations. He recommends saying them in the morning and and evening.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 from the New American Standard say: Pray (ask) without ceasing.
And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?
14And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
It is vital that you decide that the Bible is the living word of God in it's entirety, or you decide that God is what you make him subjectively.
Should you choose to accept Bible teachings as God's written form of mass communication, then be not like Senator Obama who chooses to mock Leviticus and Deuterotomy.
Senator Obama finds it hard to hide his Muslim roots.
My point is, read each sentence of the Bible in context. Then you will find that when Christ says "Love your enemy". You'll be able to apply it to new thought teachings of staying in a high vibrational state.
If you choose not to accept the Bible as your instruction booklet, you're on your own. Even worse; you're at the mercy of other humans and "their" perceptions.
Unlike the average Catholic or Protestant Christian worshipper; I ackowledge the existence of spiritualists, higher self, guardian angels, spirit guides and lost spirits. I also am aware of evil spirits, satan and his minions. Most of these are spoken of in the Bible. And be admonished, not all spirits have your best interest on their agenda.
People commonly ask me:"Do you believe in the Bible in the literal sense"? The answer is an emphatic "YES" When the Bible speaks in the literal sense.
The above statement has been the cause of many wars and fights among well meaning Christians. Where to decide the literal from the analogy has split God's church.
I will attempt to translate passages for those hungry spirits that seek truth. For those of you who want to believe that YOU are god; you're on your own. Go make your own truth. But if you want to practice the Law of Attraction; check into the Cafe every now and then and see if what I say "Resonates" (new buzz word) with you.
I will dedicate this Blog to Spiritual and religious issues. Everybody is welcome to contribute. I use to be a "Church of Christ" preacher (part time to be honest) but I've preached more than the average back up minister. So feel free to challenge me on the Bible AND on the Law of Attraction. I think they CAN be taught together. I have my differences with people like Vitale and Proctor, in that I don't believe we are ALL GOD. Yet I also believe that the Bible is overly taught from the punitive POV instead of a "growth" viewpoint.
We'll talk more. In the meanwhile; watch Ho'Oponopono again.
This video is from track 3 on "7 Secret Vibrations" It is called Ho'Oponopono. The fundamentals of the Hawaiian practice is to show contrition, "I'm sorry", ask for forgiveness "Forgive Me" give thanks, "Thank you" and confess Love "I Love You".
This is a plea to the "divine" (God,source, source energy, the force, higher power,etc...)for a spiritual cleansing or healing. Dr. Hew-Lin, a Psychotherapist from Hawaii made the technique famous when he healed a whole ward of criminally ill patients/inmates without even seeing them. He accepted responsibility for their presence in his (subjective) "reality" and asked for forgiveness for his part in it.
In the 60's, although I was a elementary school student; I was a Blue blooded Democrat. I grew up next to Congressman John J. McFall (D)California. I saw the marches of Martin Luther King. I saw the beatings in Selma Alabama.
But I remember President Kennedy reaching out and telling America to ask themselves what THEY could DO for AMERICA.
Today I'm disgusted by Democrats. AFTER the civil rights war was won in court, the culture warriors went on to fight for other rights. Rights that are in excess and should never be. Such as Gay rights. If Gays are equal; why are special rights needed? Do we have "Black" Rights? No because to acknowledge the need for "special" rights, is to acknowledge that the group pursuing the special rights are NOT equal.
But what brings a tear to this Republicans eye is to see how the Democrats have shifted from JFK's party of "do what you can do for the country" to "Entitlements". If a foreign national can make it into our country by any means, (ill-legal) and give birth to a baby, they've hit pay dirt on the government payroll. This is NOT the Ideal JFK spoke of.
Giving special programs to the middle class at the risk of running off corporate America is NOT the Ideal JFK spoke of. If we Tax the upper 5 percent who are responsible for providing 80 percent of the jobs in America, not only will we suffer an economic crisis, but light a forest fire under the unemployment rate.
The late GREAT president Reagan took a 12 percent unemployment factor with a 14% inflation rate and a prime lending rate of 21 percent, and in 12 months cut the surplus and brought the economy back to a thriving state. He did this by giving incentives to employers. I remember the ITC. Investment Tax Credit. For every ASSET a company (no matter how big or small) bought to improve their company, they were given a 10% tax credit. And ALL interest was tax deductible.
I'm sure Senator McCain will remember these great ideas and implement them. Hand outs NEVER WORK. TEACH THE MAN TO FISH.
Just saying that you are thankful for your static self analysis is a start. But consider this. I remember in 1984 when the Jeff Bridges movie "Starman" came out; Jeff played the role of an extraterrestrial being. He made what was perceived by his co-star in the movie, Karen Allen, an insipid remark when he said:"Do you see that small star"? referring to our sun.
Realize that our sun is (in galactic terms) not very large. BUT, it gives us just enough warmth to create photosynthesis.(too much and our planet would assimilate Venus, to little and we're as cold as Mars) Just enough gravitational pull to keep cosmic order in the galaxy. It keeps the planets orbiting in perfect proximity.
Can you appreciate the genius involved in the perfection of this creation?
As you go outside and feel the warmth of the sun caressing your face. Give thanks to the creator of such a perfect system.
