The Greatest Marketing Product ~ HOPE

The hottest selling book/DVD of all-time is Rhonda Byrnes' "The Secret". The Secret has a cast of Philosophers, quantum physicists, clergy, DPMs, Psychologists, Financial trainers, and of course Rhonda.

But what is the Secret? The Secret is the "Law of Attraction". The movie and it's cast claim that it's an ancient history secret that has been known and coveted by a few and then discovered and practiced by only the truly great people of Wisdom like Einstein, Lincoln, Churchill, Plato, Beethoven etc....

The Law of Attraction states that you can be, have or do anything you want by creating the thought in your brain. Then by focusing on the actual details of owning or doing or having what ever it is you desire, you will send out powerful brain waves that the "Universe" picks up on and grants you such desires. From parking spaces to riches beyond Solomon's dreams.

The individuals that were interviewed in the movie are set for life. They each have their own self-help websites and seminars where they teach the principals of the Law of Attraction to guest that pay 1000.00 usd and up.

Esther and Jerry Hicks, the authors of "Ask and it is given" have a great angle going for themselves. Esther claims to be a medium that channels a collective Spirit called "Abraham". This Abraham manifestation speaks to Jerry and Esther's guests on cruise ships to the tune of about 1200 to 2000 a trip. Not only does Esther (via Abraham or visa verse)give advise from the ether, (other side) but Abraham writes books through Esther's computer.

Why are people spending millions of dollars on speakers, psychics and self-help resources?

They promise hope. Hope is as ambiguous or as specific as you want it to be. Hope removes us from the mundane ritualistic day to day march and tells us that tomorrow could be the day that we win the lottery, or get the Job we've been wanting for decades, or just a better state of affairs.

Nothing sells better than hope. From the snake oil salesmen of the frontier days to the new and improved anti-depressants in pharmacies. The bottom line is hope for a better life or life style.

But what if the Law never Attracts the new car, the soul mate or the mansion in the hills? You still have hope don't you? And the caveat of the Law of Attraction is that if you stop believing in it, your intentions will not manifest. So it's really a one way proposition. You have to keep hope alive or the fault is yours, not the Law of Attraction.

This leads us to a secondary market in hope; Books, Tapes and lectures on why the law isn't working for you. There are hundreds of books at Amazon that give you advise on "What you're doing wrong". Books like "The HIDDEN SECRET" or "How to make the secret work" or "The Missing Secret".

Don't you hate it when epiphanies are presented incomplete?

The after market of Hope tells you that you're almost there. You just need to get rid of the "Baggage" in your subconscious mind. NOW THIS IS WORTH THE MONEY, TIME, and INVESTMENT.

Investing in counseling to uncover your hidden baggage, is, in itself, a golden goose. Forget about making the secret work. You'll find that after a while, you're not doing it for that purpose. You're noticing that you are becoming a better person. Your friends and family notice a difference in you. You become at peace with yourself. You "clear out" belief systems that have been hurting you emotionally and socially all your life. If you still don't get the car; so what? You can't put a price on getting rid of the skeletons in your closet.

I'm still waiting on that phone call from David Bowie. I haven't given up hope. I know it could happen tomorrow or even before I go to bed tonight. But if it doesn't, what I've learned from trying to let it happen has been equally worth the price of admission. I've faced my fears. I've cried the tears. I've exorcised the demons.

I've come up for air and it feels great.

Ace out................
