YOU GOTTA GET WET forget T.V. and Radio Salvation................

It saddens me to see and hear Radio and T.V. evangelist sell there souls for their own success. It abhors me even more to know that there are possibly MILLIONS of self-proclaiming Christians that are not saved, walking around in ignorance.

When I was single, I use to break up with perspective mates over this issue because there is no way they could believe that Billy Graham or Greg Laurie could be wrong. And the nerve of me to question their Christianity. But in Media evangelism, even among the best (Paul Shepherd) there is always a tendency to neglect the importance of Baptism in Salvation.

The media evangelist refer to the symbolic act of baptism as "regeneration".

They tell the viewer/listener that Baptism is a "work" and you are saved by faith thru Grace not works. Let me translate this. " Baptism means getting your body totally submerged in a pool of water." This is an act that the Radio/TV evangelist can not do on the air. So there for, let's just call it a form of "Works" and we'll omit it. If they have half a conscience, they'll refer to baptism as the 1st step in obedience to Christ. But the bottom line is, if you say this prayer and sign your name on this line, Boom, Whamo, Zap - John 3:16 makes you a born again Christian. (so whosover Believeth upon him shall not parish but have everlasting life). Belief? Don't the demons believe Christ is God's son? From all of my studies.

You have to Believe

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

You have to confess your sins.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

You have to Repent or change your course (ie stop sinning)

Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit

And finally; Jesus said in Mark 16:16 "He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned."

There is no misinterpreting Chist the almighty. Chist who responded to John the baptist, "Allow it so that the scriptures may be fulfilled" When John said to Jesus,I should be baptized by you. This was prior to the baptism of Jesus Christ.

Peter writes in his first letter 3rd chapter 21st verse: "Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you, not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience--through the resurrection of Jesus Christ" He didn't say Baptism makes you obedient. He said Baptism now SAVES YOU.

I hold this to be true that the issue of Salvation (the most important thing in any human's life) must be taken in it's entirety. Unlike the TV/Radio evangelists that preach "just believe and you're saved" but for those of you that have ears, let them hear. Read the verses above that instruct you to Believe, Confess, Repent and be Baptized.

Do you know what the Great Commission is? Jesus stood before his diciples at the end of the book of Matthew 28:19-20 and spoke : "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo,I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
