Belated Sunday Sermom.........
Everybody is blessed with a talent. It might not be the ability to fly an F-16 or climb mount Everest. It migh not be an Artistical talent like Thomas Kinkade who gives total credit for his painting ability to God. If you haven't heard the story; Tom says that his mother and him use to pray that he would somehow be able to afford or gain access to painting instructions. His teachers in school at the age of about 10 told him he was talented. But they lived on a farm in "Placerville" California. Halfway between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe. He prayed for 2 years and one day, a nationally known retired painter bought the ranch next to the Kinkade residence and turned the barn into a painting studio.
Today Thomas Kinkade sells his "Lithos" for 1,000 to 1,200 each. His original paintings are almost priceless.
I of course was blessed to play that 6 stringed instrument. But over my life, I didn't always have the chance to play it. Social responsibilities called me to work in the surgical world. Raising children forced me to abandone my Blessing from God.
Never again.
Einstein once said. "Within every person lays a genius. It's up to that person to discover what it is. Is it fair to judge a fish on his ability to climb a tree?"
