LOVE LETTERS in the Military

They usually start out:

The best part of being on this damn ship is getting mail from you.  Your letters and pictures keep me alive.  I'd rather be with you than here.  When I get home we will never ever leave each other again.

It's easy to tell how well the relationship is going by how many letters you get at the next port you pull into.  It's the pictures and letters that keep you from the unfaithful arms of the locals.
